Saturation Diving FAQ — Every New Diver Question Answered

This page is the central FAQ for Saturation Diving. Every common question new divers ask on the Discord is collected here, with the answer the wiki team has settled after at least 50 public runs of the relevant pattern. Pair this FAQ with the getting started guide for your first dive, and with the how to survive checklist for oxygen math and entity avoidance.

First Dive Questions

What is Saturation Diving?

Saturation Diving is a co-op horror adventure on Roblox where you and your friends dive to the bottom of the ocean to mine ore, salvage wrecks, and upgrade gear while avoiding deep-sea entities. The game is in public beta and free to play.

Is this wiki official?

No. This is an unofficial fan-made resource. Game names, marks, and assets belong to their respective owners. The wiki links to the official Roblox game page and Discord so you can verify anything you read here.

Which role should I pick first?

Engineer. The role is the easiest to learn, the perk tree has clear breakpoints, and every squad needs at least one Engineer for ore coverage. The wiki recommends maining Engineer until level 30, then unlocking a complementary second role (usually Salvager for ore overlap).

Do I need to play with friends?

No. Solo play is technically possible in shallow zones, but the wiki recommends playing with at least one friend for the squad coordination. Private servers are the recommended way to play with friends — you can set the squad size and invite only people you trust.

Economy Questions

How do credits work?

You earn credits by selling ore at the cargo bay. Common ore sells for 8–30 credits per cluster. Black Mound ore sells for 75–100 credits per cluster. Rare salvage drops sell for 500–2,500 credits per drop. The wiki tracks the per-run credit yield on the updates tracker so you can see which zone is currently most efficient.

When do beta wipes happen?

Every 6–8 weeks, alongside a major patch. The wiki flags every wipe 48 hours in advance so you can save credits and spend pre-wipe perks. The updates tracker logs every wipe since launch — three wipes have happened since the August 2025 launch.

Are there any codes right now?

No. The game is in early beta and the developer has not published any public codes yet. The codes page will update the moment the first wave drops on Discord. Bookmark the codes page and check back after every patch.

Survival Questions

How long does a tank last?

The starter Salvaged Tank lasts 6 minutes. The mid-tier Twin Reserve lasts 12 minutes. The endgame Cryo Helix Tank lasts 24 minutes ( doubled). The wiki’s Breathe Timer counts down any tank tier with safety alerts at 50%, 30%, and 10%.

How do I avoid the Pressure Wraith?

Use the Spotter’s Echo Tracker at level 30 or above. The Echo Tracker reveals entity shadows within 70m, which is enough warning to surface before the Wraith aggros. Mark the Wraith without pinging it — pings chain aggro.

Can I solo hadal zones?

Technically yes, but not recommended. The Hadal Pull pulls solo divers into the trench in under 30 seconds, and the Maw Lord is impossible solo. Bring a full four-role squad for any Black Mound or Abyssal Hollow run.

Role Questions

Which role is easiest for a new player?

Engineer. The role is the most forgiving for new divers, the perk tree has clear breakpoints, and every squad needs at least one Engineer for ore coverage.

Which role is strongest in the current meta?

Captain and Engineer are both S-tier in the current meta. The Captain carries the squad’s coordination, the Engineer carries the squad’s ore. The wiki expects one of them to drop to A-tier as the meta consolidates — until then, treat both as equally viable for your main role.

Can I switch roles mid-game?

Yes, but you reset your perk progress. Each role has its own perk tree; switching roles means re-leveling perks in the new tree. Most players stick to one main role and one complementary second role.

Progression Questions

What should I buy first?

A Twin Reserve tank ( 800 credits), a Reefwalker IV suit ( 1,500 credits), and a Hydraulic Core-Bit drill ( 1,200 credits). Total: 3,500 credits. Skip the Photon Flood Array for now — the Salvaged Glowstick covers lighting on Twilight Reef and saves 800 credits.

What is the endgame loadout?

Cryo Helix Tank + Triton Mark VII suit + Hydraulic Core-Bit drill. Total cost: roughly 8,500 credits. Plus the Pressure Stability perk maxed at level 11 ( roughly 4,500 perk credits). This is the loadout the wiki team uses for all reference runs.

How long does it take to reach endgame?

Roughly 40–6060 hours for a new diver in a coordinated squad. Solo divers take roughly 50% longer because of the squad-bonus credit math. The wiki tracks a per-role time estimate on the updates tracker.

Patch Questions

How often does the game patch?

Roughly every 4–6 weeks. Major patches (new zones, perk reworks) happen every 8–10 weeks; minor patches (bug fixes, polish) happen every 2–4 weeks. The patch history page tracks every patch since launch.

What was the biggest meta shift since launch?

The June 2026 Black Mound patch. The patch added a hadal zone, a new S-tier suit, and a perk max-out at level 11. The meta shifted dramatically: Captain and Engineer remained S-tier, but Salvager jumped from C-tier to B-tier.

Do beta wipes affect my saved gear?

Yes. Beta wipes reset credit balances and gear progression. The wiki flags every announced wipe 48 hours in advance on the updates tracker so you can save credits and spend pre-wipe perks.

Community Questions

Where can I find other divers?

Three Discord servers are worth joining: the developer’s official Discord, the community-run wiki Discord, and the tier-council Discord. The community page has the invite links and explains what each channel is for.

How do I become a wiki contributor?

Read the official links page to find the wiki Discord, join the #content channel, and submit a small fix (typo, broken link, missing alt text) as a pull request. The wiki team reviews within 48 hours. After three accepted PRs, you get contributor role in the Discord and edit access to the wiki.

Is this wiki paid for or sponsored?

No. The wiki is community-maintained and there is no sponsor slot. The ads on the site fund the hosting, not the editorial.

Tool Questions

What is the Dive Depth Calculator?

The Dive Depth Calculator turns a target depth into the ore tier and recommended gear for that depth. It is a manual implementation of what most third-party route planners automate — use the wiki’s calculator instead of installing a script.

What is the Breathe Timer?

The Breathe Timer counts down any tank tier with safety alerts at 50%, 30%, and 10%. It runs entirely in your browser and never touches the Roblox client — use the wiki’s timer instead of installing a HUD overlay script.

Do the wiki tools count as cheating?

No. Both tools run in your browser and never touch the Roblox client. They are reference implementations of common companion-script features, not scripts themselves.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

I just installed Roblox. Where do I start?

Open the Saturation Diving game page on the Roblox app or website, hit Play, pick a public or private server, and join the lobby. Read the [getting started](/guides/getting-started/) guide before you first dive so you know the optimal opening gear pick.

Why are there no codes right now?

The game is in early beta. Developers usually wait until the save system, anti-cheat, and reward inventory are stable before exposing code redemption. The [codes](/codes/) page will update the moment the first wave drops.

What is the difference between a perk and a skill tree?

Perks are individual bonuses you unlock at specific levels (Pressure Stability at level 1, Pressure Resistance at level 35). Skill trees are the perk categories (Captain coordination, Engineer drill, etc.). Each role has its own skill tree; switching roles resets your perk progress in the new tree.

Can I trade items with other divers?

No. Roblox ToS forbids in-game item trading, and the developer has not shipped a trading system. The wiki flags third-party trading sites as scams.

What happens if I disconnect mid-dive?

Your diver stays in place for 30 seconds. If you re join within the the 30-second window, you resume at your last position. After 30 seconds, your diver auto-surfaces and banks whatever ore you were carrying. Squad coordination is disrupted for the rest of the run.

Is Saturation Diving cross-platform?

Yes. PC, mobile, console, and VR players can all join the same server. The wiki tracks a per-platform control scheme — see the [controls](/guides/controls/) page for the keyboard, gamepad, and touch layouts.
