Use this calculator to plan your next dive. It tells you the maximum safe depth you can reach with your current hazmat suit, oxygen tank, and Pressure Stability skill level — and how long you can stay there before you have to surface. The calculator runs entirely in the browser, never sends anything off-device, and does not require an account, so you can use it offline, in a private server, or in the lobby before you even queue. Whenever the developer rebalances the pressure coefficients in a patch, the wiki syncs the reference table below within 24 hours. Use the tool any time you feel uncertain before entering a new zone — better to lose two minutes checking than to lose an entire run to a miscalculation.
How It Works
The calculator uses three inputs:
- Hazmat suit tier — Salvaged Wetsuit, Patched Dive Skin, Reefwalker IV, Abyssal Plate, Triton Mark VII.
- Oxygen tank tier — Sample Tank, Standard Tank, Twin Reserve, Cryo Helix Tank.
- Pressure Stability skill level — 0 to 11.
It outputs:
- Maximum safe depth in atmospheres.
- Maximum safe depth in meters (display only — actual zones are atm-gated, not meter-gated).
- Effective air time in seconds at that depth.
- Recommended next upgrade if you are close to a new tier.

These numbers are base dive time. They do not account for sprinting (3x air cost) or pause-recovery (1.5x air cost when surfacing). Treat the value as a theoretical ceiling and subtract sprint costs manually if you plan to sprint often during the run.
Usage Tips
- Plan your ascent before you dive. The calculator tells you max depth, but the actual gate is your air time at that depth.
- If you are within 10% of a new tier, the calculator recommends the next upgrade. Spend credits on that first — most players die because they enter a hadal zone without an A-tier tank.
- The calculator does not account for squad bonuses. Captain + Salvager stacks give roughly 33% more ore, but they do not change your safe-depth math. Depth is personal: you can be at 4.2 atm alone or with three squadmates, the pressure on your body is identical.

When To Use The Calculator
The calculator is most useful in three situations: before buying an A-tier tank (to see if you need to upgrade Pressure Stability in parallel), before entering a hadal zone (to confirm you have enough air time for both the trip down and the trip back), and when planning a squad farm (so the whole team aligns on the same target depth). For ordinary Twilight Reef runs you can go by feel; whenever you aim for Abyssal Hollow or deeper, run the calculator first. Spending 30 seconds before the run often saves many minutes when you accidentally discover you do not have enough air for the return trip.
How The Calculator Computes Limits
The calculator combines the suit’s pressure ceiling (in atm) with the tank’s base air time and the Pressure Stability bonus curve. Pressure Stability is non-linear: levels 0–4 give modest gains, levels 5–8 start to matter for hadal runs, and levels 9–11 unlock the deepest dive windows. The widget also factors a small efficiency multiplier for higher-tier suits — the Triton Mark VII actually loses air a bit faster than the Reefwalker IV at the same depth because its plating is heavier, which is why the recommended next upgrade prompt flags air-tank tier before suit tier for hadal runs.
Recommended Upgrade Path
The calculator suggests upgrades based on a simple rule of thumb: if you are within 10% of your air time at the target depth, upgrade the oxygen tank; if you are at over 80% of your suit’s pressure limit, upgrade the hazmat; if your Pressure Stability is below 5 and you are diving deeper than 3 atm, invest in the skill. These three simple rules cover most common situations. Common Mistakes
The most common mistake is reading the meter number and assuming you have more time than the calculator predicts. In-game, sprinting and entity aggro both drain oxygen faster, so the theoretical 180 seconds for a Twin Reserve at 2.4 atm becomes roughly 90 seconds under combat conditions. The second most common mistake is forgetting to update the calculator when you swap suits between runs — divers who jumped into the Abyssal Plate for Black Mound forget that its air efficiency is worse than the Reefwalker IV, then black out thinking their build is fine. The third is using a stale Pressure Stability level after leveling the skill; the calculator reads your most recent save, but if you have not reloaded the page since spending the skill point it may show a lower number than you actually have.
